Studi Deskriptif Kesehatan Mental Akademisi di Kabupaten Sumbawa

Abstract

Bertepatan dengan hari kesehatan mental dunia, terdapat kasus bunuh diri yang mana korban merupakan mahasiswa. Sebelumnya, terdapat kasus bunuh diri yang dilakukan oleh seorang dosen dari universitas terkemuka di Indonesia. Di Sumbawa sendiri, terdapat beberapa kasus bunuh diri per tahun 2016. Di sisi lain, akademisi merupakan salah satu agent yang berpengaruh di tengah masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesehatan mental akademisi. Sebanyak 202 akademisi di Kabupaten Sumbawa mengisi data aspek demografis, kuesioner ide bunuh diri, kebahagiaan, dan depresi. Kemudian, data yang telah diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif dan korelasi menggunakan SPSS versi 23.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa akademisi di Kabupaten Sumbawa mempunyai intensitas yang rendah terhadap ide bunuh diri. Mereka juga masuk pada kategori bahagia. Untuk depresi, skor rata-rata mengindikasikan bahwa mereka mengalami gangguan mood ringan. Sebagian besar akademisi sehat secara mental, namun ada beberapa akademisi yang mengalami depresi (sedang, berat, dan ekstrem). Penelitian ini berimplikasi terhadap pemangku kebijakan dan beberapa praktisi kesehatan mental untuk mengadakan intervensi dan program psikoterapi yang fokus pada aspek antisipasi depresi pada individu guna menekan angka depresi di kalangan akademisi.
